Structural repair and sympathetic restoration of an early-twentieth-century masonry building in Accra's historic administrative quarter.
Heritage Building Restoration, Victoriaborg, Accra
An institutional owner commissioned the restoration of an early-twentieth-century masonry building in Victoriaborg. The brief was to arrest structural decay without erasing the building’s character: cracked load-bearing walls were stitched and repointed with breathable mortars matched to the original, timber elements were repaired or replaced like-for-like, and modern electrical and fire-safety services were threaded through the fabric to current code without disturbing the visible finishes. Every intervention was recorded in a condition dossier, giving the owner a documented baseline for future maintenance.
